James Edward Bowers, 50, of Ravenswood, lost his battle with glioblastoma on July 27, 2020 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Neb and Sue (Jackson) Bowers and his sister, Terri Bowers. He is survived by his wife, Tanya Tackett Bowers and children, Rowan Sue and Sagan Lukas Bowers; sisters, Karen Bowers of Acworth, GA, Tammy Opel of Parkersburg, WV, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who take remained an important office of his life over the years.
Jim was a 1988 graduate of Ravenswood High School, alumni of Columbus College of Fine art and Pattern, and alumni of WVU with a BS and PHD in chemical engineering.
He was employed by Constellium as a Client Applications Engineer, working with Military, Aerospace and Transportation.
He was a devoted father and husband and he enjoyed working on projects with his family unit. Jim was a Renaissance human being who was proficient at annihilation he attempted. His hobbies included drawing and painting, woodworking, metalworking and hunting. One of Jim'southward favorite lifelong activities was getting together with his closest friends and playing various strategy games. Currently some of Jim's artwork is on brandish at the Ravenswood Urban center Edifice (erstwhile BBT building) until September.
Per his request, no services were held. He asked that donations be made to his children's 529 higher fund. Information for this was available at the art showroom alongside a sign in book where memories of Jim could be shared.
Jim was laid to rest on July 29 at the Sayre-Hartley Cemetery on Cow Run, Cottageville, WV.

Jeffery Wayne Nichols, 38, of Parkersburg, went dwelling to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Dec 25, 2007.
He was born July 1, 1969 in Stuart, FL, a son of Ernie R. and Linda 1000. Hackney Nichols of Walton.
He was a 1988 graduate of Ravenswood Loftier Schoolhouse and was the old manager of McCoy's West Western in Ripley.
In add-on to his parents, suvivors, include his married woman Virginia O'Dell Nichols of Leroy; sons Justin Nichols of Leroy and Christopher Nichols of Panama Urban center, FL; twin brother John Nichols and brothers Teddy Nichols and Ernie Nichols, Jr. all of Ravenswood.

Jeffery Fifty. Marcum, forty, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away May 6, 2011, in Ravenswood.
He was born Dec. 2, 1970, in Ft. Knox, Ind., a son of the tardily Ronald Marcum and Mary Banks Marcum. He was an Electrical Engineer at Alcan Aluminum in Ravenswood. He was a graduate of Ohio University.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Tammy Bever Marcum, Ravenswood; sons Cody and Wes, both of Ravenswood; his female parent Mary Banks Marcum; a blood brother and 2 sisters; several nieces and nephews; mother-in- police; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Marcum.

Jim (James F.) Porter

James F. "Jim" Porter, passed away on November 17, 2020 at Ravenswood Care Center.
He was built-in in Morgantown, WV, on Dec 17, 1925 to Frank and Vera Straley Porter, and grew up in Inez, KY. After graduation from Inez High School in 1944, Jim enlisted in the Navy for the elapsing of Globe War Ii. He entered Marshall College in 1946, and finished in 1950 with an A.B. degree in public school instrumental music, and after did graduate work at both Marshall and West Virginia University.
Jim began his teaching career that aforementioned year equally Bandmaster at Hurricane High School, and after three years moved to Ravenswood to take the aforementioned position at Ravenswood Loftier School, a postal service he held for 27 years. In 1980, he was promoted to Supervisor of Instrumental Music, and established a successful county-broad beginning band plan. Jim retired in 1988.
Active in his profession, Jim was a 38-twelvemonth fellow member and past president of the West Virginia Bandmasters Association, Phi Mu Bandmasters Fraternity (by president for WV), and past president for the Jackson Canton Chapter of WV Instruction Clan. He also served as regional chairman for the WV Band Festival and established a regional band festival that was held for many years. Highly respected in his field, Jim was oft invited to serve equally adjudicator for ring festivals in West Virginia and Ohio. He was a noted arranger and composer for instrumental and choral music, a pastime he enjoyed long subsequently retirement. In 2018 Jim was inducted into the West Virginia Music Educators Association Land Ring Directors Hall of Fame.
Mr. Porter was besides active in community organizations in Ravenswood. He was a member of the First Christian Church building, and was choir manager at the First Baptist Church for many years. He fondly remembered the Ravenswood Piddling League Baseball Plan that Coach Jim Spano and he established in the 1950's. The WV Wild Foods Group that he loved and hosted for several years at the First Christian Church was his joy. He also supported and was agile in The Lions Social club, the Jaycees and the American Legion. He was proud to be a Kentucky Colonel. He has besides enjoyed volunteering with Prefer-A-Family unit for many years, into his 94th year.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in expiry by his wife, Virginia; his sis, Dixie Mills; and his eldest son, James F. Porter III. Survivors include his children: Donald L. Porter (Susan), Langsville, OH; Sarah F. Lawrence (Ernie), Mt. Airy, NC; and Patricia A. Cole (Hoyt), Bonlee, NC; 12 grandchildren; 8 peachy-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions could exist made to the James F. Porter Scholarship Fund.
The funeral service was held on Dominicus, November 22, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Ravenswood. Burial followed in Ravenswood Cemetery with full graveside military rites provided by Jackson County Honor Baby-sit.
Friends may visited the family at Roush Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov 21, from five:00 to vii:00 pm, and one 60 minutes before the service on Dominicus.
All Covid 19 restrictions were observed.

Joanne(King)Stone Abel

Joanne (Male monarch) Stone Abel, 84, passed abroad at Camden Clark Medical Middle Memorial Campus on July 28, 2016. She was born on February 24, 1932 in Huntington, WV, a girl of the tardily Grand. "Ward" and Mabel Williams King.
Joanne worked at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse and faculty member. She taught at PCC, WVU-P and was the director of nursing at Shawnee State University for 20 years. Joanne enjoyed reading, traveling and bird watching. Known as "Granny Jo", she helped fund her grandchildren's postal service secondary educations. She was known for her sense of humor and her homemade peanut brittle.
She is survived by two daughters Teresa "Terry" Rock of Thomas, WV and Catherine "Cathy" Stump of Parkersburg; grandchildren Alison Poe, A.B. Stump (Alyssa), Brittany Stump, Instance Drumheller, Jacob Rock (Erika) and Matthew Stone; iii nifty grandchildren; special sister Thelma King and brother Carl Male monarch; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in decease by two sons, Jim and Scott Stone; one daughter Karen Poe; one baby granddaughter Erin Poe; 2 brothers, Jack King and H.W. "Stinkey" King.

June Lincicome Critchfield died peacefully on December 15, 2021 at the age of 86, at AHC Northbrooke Nursing Dwelling in Jackson, Tennessee with her daughter by her side.
June was born on June 30, 1935 in Huntington, WV, to Carl Clay Lincicome and Francis Claire Williams Lincicome Blackburn of Ravenswood, WV. June spent near of her childhood in Ravenswood, WV and graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1953. She received her BS from John's Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and became a registered nurse. June married Edwin Dennis Critchfield in 1957.
June is survived past her loving hubby, Ed and their three children: Debra L. Thomas, Timothy S. Critchfield, and James L. Critchfield, and their respective spouses; and 5 grandchildren. June'due south twin sister, Jean 50. Head, preceded her in decease and she is survived by ii sisters, Wanda Jane (Snooky) Biggs of Cottonwood, AZ and Judy Carlene Fletcher of Port Angeles, WA and various nieces and nephews. June volition be remembered as a caring nurse and attentive mother. June enjoyed golf game, bridge and a rowdy game of hearts with her family.
For the last few years, June received wonderful intendance from AHC Northbrooke and The Dialysis Dispensary in Jackson, TN. Before moving to AHC Northbrooke, she received personal care from Jeanette Kirk who however cares for her husband, Ed. The family unit is almost grateful for the care she received.

Nancy Carol Burford, 75, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on February 17, 2020, after a cursory illness, in Marietta, Ohio.
She was built-in on January 22, 1945, in Toler, Kentucky, daughter of the late Carl and Helen Reed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in expiry by her sisters, Rosemary Darnell and Phyllis Wiggins.
Nancy was a graduate of Ravenswood Loftier Schoolhouse, Glenville State College, and Marshall University. Nancy taught at Ravenswood High School for over xxx years before retiring. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Ravenswood. She was the Queen Bee of the Purple Reign Red Hats. Nancy was too involved with the Jackson County Historical Society.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Joe Burford of Ravenswood; nieces and nephews, Tim (Jeri) Rector, Ted (Jane) Rector, Monica Evans, Natalie Darnell, all of Ravenswood; Elaine Tintle of California; and her beloved true cat, Rascal.
The funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at 1:00 pm at First United Methodist Church building in Ravenswood with Reverend Ken Peters officiating. Burying was in the Ravenswood Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of iii South Memorial Health System, Marietta, Ohio, for their loving care for Nancy during her illness.
Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood was in charge of her arrangements.

Jackson, TN - Funeral services for Mr. Rutherford James Head, III, historic period 51, were held March 29, 2015 at St. Luke'southward Episcopal Church building with Rev. Deacon Tommy Rhodes officiating.
Mr. Caput died in March 2015 at Jackson-Madison Canton General Hospital. He was born in Parkersburg, W Virginia, the son of the tardily Rutherford James Head, Jr. and Wilda Jean Lincicome. He was a calculator engineer and was United Methodist in religion. Mr. Head was a volunteer at Operation Hope, the Food Kitchen and many other charitable organizations.
Surviving are his sons, James Rutherford Head, IV and Michael Head and their mother, Sheron Dunn all of Jackson, TN; a step-son, Philip Wilson of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Rachel Caput Clauson of Dayton, TN; a step-daughter, Anna McCue of Evansville, IN and his sisters, Brenda Caput Foley and married man, Eddie of Knoxville, TN, Marcia Caput Clauson and husband, Kevin of Dayton, TN and Lisa Head Kennedy and hubby, Marker of Lakeland, FL.

She was my best friend. I miss her everyday.
She was a majorette and loved it. She married Rick Christian and they had three children. Lamentable to know they probably don't call back her.
